A review of recent literature related to novel cardiovascular uses for DOACs.

Objectives

Pharmacist Objectives
1. Formulate an evidence-based antithrombotic regimen for a patient with non-valvular atrial fibrillation and coronary heart disease with coronary stents
2. Review emerging evidence for use of direct oral anticoagulants in valvular heart disease
3. Identify valvular heart disease patients with concomitant atrial fibrillation in whom direct oral anticoagulants may be appropriate and design an evidence-based plan for anticoagulation
